Short Beach Golf Course

Short Beach Park boasts of a wide range of activities, one of the major things being golf. The Short Beach Golf Course was built in 1988. It is a Scottish links style par 3 golf course, complete with elevations and water hazards in order to make it interesting for even the hardiest of golfers. The golf course is located at the mouth of the Housatonic River. It is bordered by Short Beach and you can see the lovely Long Island Sound while standing on the golf course's greenery.

The golf course is open from January to September, opening and closing hours as follows: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm from January to March; 7:00 am – 7:30 pm from May to August; 7:00 am – 6:30 pm in September. Golf ID's are available for residents, and must be worn while inside the Short Beach Park Golf Course. Golf carts and clubs can be rented out, and there is a pro shop where you can buy items like shirts, caps or clubs.

Aside from regular golfing hours, Short Beach Golf Course also offers golf lessons. You have a choice of taking crash courses outside, indoors, in groups or by yourself. Even children from ages seven to eleven can take the junior golf program. The rates and time of lessons depends on what course you want to take. There is a Ladies Golf League and a Men's League as well.
