Short Beach Park

Short Beach Park

Short Beach is different from all the other Connecticut beaches in that it has more than a shore, but a park as well. Short Beach Park offers a visitor plenty of activities and opportunities for outdoor fun under the sun. Covering thirty acres of sand and turf, Short Beach Park is also at the mouth of the Housatonic River.

There is the Short Beach Golf Course for those interested in playing golf with a natural ocean view and a miniature golf course for fun. Not only that, there are volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, a soccer field, a lacrosse field, a lighted softball field and two Little League fields. Talk about your pick of any sport. You're not just going to break a sweat at one volleyball game at Short Beach Park, you can really work out with all these available courts and fields.

Not just that, Short Beach Park has playgrounds that are handicap-friendly, too. Concession stands wait for you at the beachfront in case you get hungry or thirsty from all the games you can play.

Short Beach Park is a well-rounded area, as even children will be able to enjoy the facilities. If they get tired of swimming, they can always join a Little League game or kick a ball around the soccer field. Older people can sit in the shade of the picnic pavilions or do classic beach things like sunbathing on the shore of Short Beach.
